♥A jar lid of a couple of marbles in the bottom half of a double-boiler will rattle when the water gets low and warn you to add more before the pan scorches or burns.

♥To remove lime deposits from teakettles, fill with equal parts vinegar and water. Bring to a boil and allow to stand overnight.

♥Before washing fine china and crystal, place a towel in the bottom of the sink to act as a cushion.

♥To remove coffee or tea stains and cigarette burns from china rub with a damp cloth dipped in baking soda.

♥To quickly remove food that is stuck to a casserole dish, fill with boiling water and 2 tablespoons baking soda or salt.

♥When a drain is clogged with grease, pour a cup of baking soda and a cup of salt followed by a kettle of boiling water.
